The aim of the Training school was to provide working knowledge on microbiome sequencing & analysis, integral to several fields of modern biosciences. 15 scientists with various backgrounds (biologists, computer scientists, food scientists) eager to learn and willing to cooperate with each other and with the instructors worked for five days (October 8th -12th ) in a friendly and inclusive environment at the Department of Molecular Biology & Genetics following all CoViD-19 pandemic regulations set by the Greek legislation for educational activities with physical presence. Participants learned the basic concepts of metagenomics, discussed applications in several fields of biosciences, got hands-on training on 16S/ITS metagenomic sequencing and analyzed their data using QIIME 2 and GALAXY pipelines and completed achieving all the learning outcomes set for the course!
We are happy that the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, with 100 percent of participants recommending our training school.
