Ionna Farmakioti, PhD Candidate
Ioanna Farmakioti is a PhD Candidate in the Laboratory of Molecular and Developmental Biology at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, DUTH, and her thesis is about the effect of fuctional food ingredients on gut microbiota. She graduated from the Department of Biology, AUTH, on October 2018 (Grade: 8.48) and as an undergraduated student she researched the role of the tumor supressor gene CYLD to the reprogramming of mouse embryonic fibroblasts in the Laboratory of Developmental Biology. During the academic year 2019-2020, she attended the master degree called “Biology of Reproduction, Biomarkers in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Perinatal Medicine” at the Department of Medicine, UTH (Grade: 9.19). Her master thesis was about the role of five polymorphisms of the Renin- Angiotensin- Aldosterone system (RAAS) in bladder cancer.
